Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce Opens New Office in Downtown GR
Tina Frain
On March 1, the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce moved into their new location at 250 Monroe Ave. NW. The move coincides with a rebrand effort to better meet the needs of the 2,400 Grand Rapids Chamber members and the community.
The new building includes 8,000 square feet of space dedicated to member services, including a multi-purpose social space, a work cafe for members, and a variety of meeting rooms and seating options. The staff offices have a “nomadic” open floor plan, allowing them to choose the best location to work for concentrating or collaborating.
“We are thrilled to be able to transition into this office space, bringing real value to our business community,” said Rick Baker, President and CEO, Grand Rapids Chamber. “Through intentional design, we are providing our members with space to collaborate, connect and grow their business. Our new modern office space and rebranding efforts are a visible reflection of the growth and positive changes within our organization.”
Custer Inc. provided change management and project management services, and coordinated and installed furniture donated by Steelcase. Owen-Ames-Kimball was the general contractor. Progressive AE provided engineering, architecture, interior design and space planning services. JLL was the real estate consultant and Highland Group led the Chamber’s re-branding process.
