With the latest campus update at Calvin University, students and staff can now explore new ways to promote innovation and collaborate.
Calvin University has always been known for its dedication to academic excellence and community involvement, and the newly renovated Hekman Library is a shining example of this commitment.
Centrally located on campus, the library has been transformed to enhance both its functionality and aesthetic, making it a vibrant center for learning and collaboration while accommodating the evolving needs of Calvin University’s students and staff.
Custer played a significant role in the renovation of the Hekman Library, emphasizing flexibility, aesthetics, and functionality.
The library’s design offers various seating options from quiet study areas to collaborative workspaces. There are also meeting room spaces equipped with the latest technology, ideal for group projects and presentations.
Our partner company, CS Erickson, provided all the AV technology solutions throughout the newly renovated library. CSE managed the installation and programming of various systems, such as displays in conference rooms, a paging system, a projector setup, and speakers for the small live venue space in the basement.
They also installed two large DvLED video walls and several touch panels throughout the facility. Their expertise and dedication guaranteed that the library’s AV technology was up-to-date and effective, enhancing the experience for all visitors.
This project highlights the importance of intentional design and collaboration. Custer’s work on the Hekman Library renovation has created a flexible space that caters to the ever-changing needs of Calvin University’s students and staff for many years to come.
The space is now well-prepared to support the academics of Calvin University’s community, serving as an integral part of campus life.
