Thread Creates a Simple Connection to Power
Departure is delayed. Again. This is Michigan, after all, and the weather changes by the second. But as the other passengers become charged with frustration, the charge on your phone is quickly dwindling in the opposite direction. Checking the weather, loading your boarding pass, and texting family with your new arrival time took a toll—and looking around, there are relatively few places to plug in. Of course, the outlets at the base of the wall in the corner are always an option, should the red battery icon tempt you so; but that option remains a last resort, considering the crowd, dust, and overall discomfort. Where to recharge?
Insert Thread.
With its profile sitting a mere 3/16 inch off the floor, Thread by Steelcase lays concealed beneath carpet, providing a way to power any point in a room with an easy to use, easy to install system. With modularity that makes it easy to reconfigure, Thread can easily be added to new construction or retrofitted into existing spaces. While coring and trenching are expensive, and raised flooring cannot always be employed, Thread provides a cost-effective and adaptable solution to any environment. Plus, the vertical track power track stays out of the way of foot traffic, standing anywhere you need it.
The need for Thread extends into other environments as well. Today’s work spaces are limited by their access to power, particularly in collaborative areas. From cords duct-taped to the floor, to meetings that only last as long as your battery, haphazard and half-effective solutions abound. Thread provides a way to keep connected to the people and places vital to our work.
Many of our most trafficked areas—including airports, classrooms, offices, and waiting areas—are lacking necessary power. Though mobile technology is often at the center of these spaces, existing power options draw us to outlets at the periphery. Thread brings power—and people—back to the center of a connected environment.
