Spotify’s Angie Romero on Getting Into a Creative State
When senior editor of Spotify’s Music Culture & Editorial team attended TED2018, Angie Romero didn’t know the fulfilling experience would end with a new look for her office. You may be familiar with Romero, who has racked up many high profile interviews and written leading stories as a journalist in outlets like Rolling Stone, ABC News, Washington Post and Marie Claire.
TED2018 was themed Age of Amazement. Aside from being an attendee and unveiling the innovative SILQ chair, our partners at Steelcase participated by sponsoring a contest asking TED attendees to tweet their #AmazementIn5Words as a fun celebration of the breakthrough material, shape and process that went into SILQ. Winners received a limited-edition TED-inspired SILQ chair. After winning, Steelcase asked Angie to share more about her creative and boundary-pushing work at Spotify.
From the interview –
Steelcase: Following the TED2018 theme of the Age of Amazement, what amazes you about the age we live in?
Angie: So many things! I am always encouraged by acts of human kindness, whether at the massive, institutional level or the microscopic, personal level. It is becoming increasingly harder to find these kinds of stories in a world where clickbait rules, but I really cherish those moments when I come across them. And, the beauty of the age that we live in is we can share those moments universally like never before.
And, check out “Four Ways TED2018 Will Make You Think” – a blog post reflecting on the inspiring showcase written by Steelcase’s Sara Armbruster, VP of strategy, research and digital transformation.
Custer is proud to bring you insights from our partner, Steelcase.
